The A2 Bike Test - 19 - 23 Years

From 19th January 2013, the A2 Test must be taken on a bike of at least 395cc capacity and between 33bhp & 46.6bhp.
We use restricted 500cc motorcycles, however once passed you can ride any restricted bike as long as it is restricted by no more than half its original output stated by the manufacturer, so it must be of 93bhp or less.

So you can still have Suzuki Bandit 600 / 650's, Kawasaki ER6's, Yamaha 600 Fazers, Honda 600 Hornets etc, which are most riders first big bike anyway.

At 24 (or 2 years after passing A2) you can opt to upgrade to any size bike by taking a further road test on a Direct Access size bike of 595cc and 57bhp or more.

There are already 47bhp restrictor kits available for this license .

Although the E.U. 3rd directive has changed the automatic upgrade after 2 years, there are however some positives:
* Taking your tests on a real 'Big Bike' not an underpowered 125 machine
* An increase of minimum bhp fro. 33 to 46.6bhp
* 2 Full years after passing the A2 test you will be eligable to take the Direct Access test, this will enable you to ride any bike of bhp, so if you passed at 19 you can do your DA at 21 and not 24.

All courses include CBT, Theory Test and both Modules of the practical test. If your CBT or Theory test is already complete we will of course deduct that from our course fee
